Carmen D. Vieira
Carmen D. Vieira of Glendale, Ariz., passed away June 11 at 101 years of age.
She was a native of New Bedford, Mass., and lived in Gustine as a young child.
In later years, she spent several summers in Gustine with her sister, Virginia Predes. She also enjoyed spending time with her sister Mary Tosta of Gustine.
During this time, she met many people in the Newman-Gustine area.
She is survived by her daughter, Marlene (Tom) Beland of Arizona; four nieces, Julie Bagnani and Mary Bettencourt of Turlock, Linda Woods of Gustine and Jody Hunt of Cobb; one grandchild, great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Vieira; her sisters; and a brother, Joseph Brazil of Oregon.
Services were held July 11 at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward.
