Ralph Moffet

Ralph Donald Moffet of Gustine passed away July 17 at 86 years of age.

Mr. Moffet was born in St. Joseph, Mo.

He had lived in Gustine for more than 70 years.

Mr. Moffett was a self-employed farmer for 20 years. He also was a driver for Ted Peters Trucking for 10 years, and managed the gas station at Pea Soup Andersen’s for 10 years.

He was a World War II veteran who served in the U.S. Army Air Corps.

He belonged to the Gustine Historical Society, was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Newman and was a former member of the Gustine Rotary Club.

His hobbies included golfing and traveling.

Mr. Moffet is survived by a son, John Moffet of Georgia; a daughter, Jill Wright of Idaho; companion and friend Pearl Jensen of Gustine; two brothers, Howard Moffet and Harold Moffet, both of Gustine; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Moffet; a son, Donald Moffet; two brothers, Robert Moffet and Dustin Moffet; and two sisters, Dorothy Phelps and Virginia Lyons.

A memorial service was held Saturday.

Private interment.

Hillview Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
