Rafael Rangel, 60, of Patterson passed away July 26.
Mr. Rangel was born in El Crucero, Michoacan, Mexico, and was a resident of Patterson for 18 years.
He worked as a welder for 10 years.
Mr. Rangel was a parishioner at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Patterson.
He enjoyed cooking and dancing, and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Mr. Rangel is survived by his wife, Delfina Rangel of Patterson; three sons, Rafael Rangel Jr. and Jose Rangel, both of Patterson, and Juan Carlos Rangel of Stockton; a daughter, Laura Xochitl Rangel of Newman; eight sisters, Esther Sanchez of Wisconsin, Antonia Rangel of Sacramento and Maria De Jesus Espinosa, Refugio Zamora, Teresita Rangel, Graciela Nava, Beatriz Mandujano and Maria Inez Rangel, all of Mexico; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Socorro Rangel and Manuela Diaz.
A visitation was held Wednesday, July 31, from 5-7 p.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Patterson, with a rosary following.
A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. today (Thursday) at the church.
Interment will follow in Patterson District Cemetery.
