Former Newman resident Kenneth Paul White of San Jose passed away Feb. 6 at 88 years of age.
Mr. White was born in Omaha, Neb. He lived in Newman from 1994-2005 before moving to San Jose.
Mr. White was a field engineer for Pitney Bowes for 37 years.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, tinkering and listening to football games on the radio. He was an avid fan of the Nebraska Cornhusker football team.
Mr. White loved traveling to the Philippines.
He is survived by his wife, Maximina White of San Jose; three sons, Thomas White of Los Gatos, Dan Paul White of Morgan Hill and Timothy White of Los Banos; a daughter, Lori Bantilian of Arkansas; a sister, Doria McClenehen of Nebraska; 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty White; a son, Kenneth White; and two daughters, Susan Marie May and Marilyn Screves.
Visitation will be today (Thursday) from 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at Hillview Funeral Chapel, Newman. A rosary and mass of Christian burial will follow at 10 a.m. at St. Joachim’s Catholic Church, Newman.
Interment will follow in Hills Ferry Cemetery.
