Darlene J. DeWitt Ross, 65, of Gustine, passed away June 2.
Mrs. Ross was born in Castro Valley to Labon and Betty (VanWoerkon) DeWitt.
She was raised in Hayward, and was a 1967 graduate of Hayward High School.
Shortly after graduation she met David G. Ross, and they were married Aug. 26, 1967.
After living in the Bay Area for a time, they moved to Gustine where Mrs. Ross has been a long-time resident.
She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed being with her family. Known as a great listener who was always there when needed, she also had great character and a sharp sense of humor which kept those around her smiling.
She was very creative, and an inspiration to all who knew her. Her unconditional love will always be in the hearts of those who knew her.
Mrs. Ross is survived by three children, Darcel Ross, Donna (Bill) Brazil and David G. Ross III, all of Gustine; her ex-husband, David G. Ross of Grass Valley; two siblings, Nancy and Tom DeWitt, both of Hayward, and 10 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Art DeWitt.
Graveside services were held Monday in Hills Ferry Cemetery.
Hillview Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
