Dorothy Azevedo
Dorothy Lucille Azevedo of Gustine passed away Aug. 27.
She was 95.
Mrs. Azevedo was born in Newman. She lived in Gustine for 57 years.
She was a parishioner at the Shrine of Our Lady of Miracles.
She enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting and gardening, and for many years cooked at the Gun Club in Gustine.
Mrs. Azevedo is survived by a son, Alan (Peggy) Azevedo of Gustine; three daughters, Linda (Marty) Watson of Hughson, Susan (David) Schouten of Gustine and Marilyn (Harold) Rhodes of North Dakota; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph “Spud” Azevedo, a son, Keith Azevedo, and a great-granddaughter.
A visitation was held Wednesday, Sept. 4, from 5-7 p.m. at Hillview Funeral Chapel, Gustine, with a rosary following.
A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. today (Thursday) at the Shrine of Our Lady of Miracles.
Interment will follow in Hills Ferry Cemetery.
