James C. “Jim” Grisham of Atwater passed away earlier this month at 77 years of age.
Mr. Grisham was born in Bay, Ark., to Luther and Minnie Grisham.
The family moved to Livermore when he was 5. Mr. Grisham was a graduate of Livermore High School.
He was an avid baseball player and coach.
Mr. Grisham moved to Gustine and worked in the food canning industry for more than 40 years, first for Carnation and later for the Nestle Co.
He was a man of diverse interests and abilities. Mr. Grisham had a television antenna business, raised Arabian horses, was a member of the Moose Lodge and did volunteer work distributing commodities.
Mr. Grisham is survived by four children, Debbie Rodriguez and Victoria (Ted) Davis, both of Newman, Randy Grisham of Gustine and Rick (Mika) Grisham of Hilmar; 18 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty, in 1987; a daughter, Kimberly Grisham; and his parents.
Private graveside services were held in Sunnyside Cemetery, Stevinson.
